My new sisters and brothers in Christ,

I am eagerly anticipating meeting you all in person in just a few short weeks. Right now, I'm working behind the scenes, getting a good sense of all the amazing things that take place at St. John's and focusing on administrative responsibilities. My current interim assignment at St. Paul's in the Carondelet neighborhood will come to a close at the end of September and I will be able to join you in full ministry October 1st. I am so looking forward to being part of this faithful and caring congregation. St. John's has a reputation, you know? And, it's an outstanding reputation of generosity, hospitality, and loving of God and neighbors.

On Monday evening I met your Vestry for a short meeting on Zoom. I am truly impressed with the sense of responsibility, dedication, and motivation each member brings to their role. God has placed St. John's in very skilled and trusting hands!

I am grateful to the Rev. Carol Wesley and the Rev. Thomas Skillings for being part of our triune interim team, and covering the Sunday liturgies in September. St. John's is blessed to have these two experienced, skilled, and faithful priests in the congregation who will be playing key roles as we move forward over the next several months seeking what God is calling us to do next.

I ask that you keep all three of us, and the vestry, in your prayers, that we will be faithful witnesses to our calling of serving you and all in the St. John's community. Be assured that our prayers and presence will be surrounding you.

Blessings,

Fr. Jeff Goldone
